Moving on

We finally made our decision about where we are going to move after graduation, and I can't express in words how much stress has been relieved. It's been a long, long, long road, going back to school married with children is definitely not for the faint of heart. But here we are, third year second semester so close we can taste it. Graduation will be here in just a little over three months, and so, we have to now get into move mode.

Fortunately, move mode is something I've grown quite accustomed to over the years. I know the drill, I know what's to be done, and we have a very doable time frame to get it done. Now seeing as we are a student family, we have to do things the most affordable way always. We won't be hiring any movers, nor will we be ordering one of those cool pod thingamajigs. Instead we will be trucking it ourselves via Budget truck rental, they really have the best deal which includes unlimited mileage. From here on out I have to start the grueling process of going through everything, toys, clothes, kitchen stuff, everything. Not my favorite part of the process to say the least.

We moved to Naples summer of 2011, Jason jr was 8 months and Bella had just turned three. Moving to an area as a student is quite different than usual moves, because from the beginning you move knowing most likely it will be a temporary stay. However now almost three years later the same thing that has happened with past moves has yet happened again. Naples has become familiar, and feels like home to us. It's happened slowly with little things, our favorite park, our church parish, the grocery store we shop at and now with one in kindergarten a school. The staff at the pediatrician know us well, and know the important health history of our kids, makes it very convenient when trying to get in and out of a sick visit. The kids are used to the warmth of the ever inviting sunshine, they don't really understand what winter really is. They've also had the wonderful opportunity to live close to their cousins for the past three years, my sisters family just happened to live right here in Naples! I don't think they'll ever stop missing the cousins, and will always be eager to motivate the adults to plan for summer visits.

It's not easy to move around, Jay and I have always tried to only make moves when we feel a greater good will come out of it. And we definitely see a ton of potential for our entire family with our upcoming move in May. We appreciate the support of prayers for our family, moving is both stressful and exciting, as most of you know. But with the help of the prayers of our friends and family the transitions I'm sure will be much easier. Happy Sunday to all!

 A stroll down memory lane...

  1. How exciting! I totally know how you feel about moving and everything. We were so sad to leave Naples, but it was such a relief when the decision was made. Hope the move and bar application and everything goes smoothly!

  3. A lot of different factors, we lived there before and we really liked it. Also the cost of living is very affordable, and there's a great community for young families. But we will definitely miss our friends and family in Naples.
